Returning Natural!!! Any Odds?

I have been MIA for a while and it was not planned for. But circumstances beyond my control led to it. But I'm excited to be back and I've learnt a lot so far about my natural hair and so ready to share.

Being natural has taught me a lot. I've learnt a lot about my hair, my skin, the food I take and lot more. But most especially, I've come to appreciate what God gave to me. It's funny when you hear people talk about how unattractive natural hair looks. So i understand what its like when you live in such world. I've lost count of the number of girls I convince to learn to appreciate their natural hair. When you don't feel comfortable with your skin, your hair, your body. Whatever they tell you will definitely  get to you. But I'm hear to teach you how to appreciate your hair more than the Brazilian and Peruvian hair you fix every Month or less.

Now, let's discuss on my Journey. I've been natural for 2 years and 2months now and I had to experiment with different products to know what really works for me. It's been a journey but finally realising what to use and when to use the products on my hair is worth the trial. I transitioned for only 6 months because it became difficult to manage the two textures so I couldn't stay for the supposed period and I had to chop off the relaxed end.

my first trimming

Managing one texture is quit easy and talking about the odds in natural hair, I only felt it was difficult when I started because I didn't have the right ideas about my hair porosity, my texture and product that works well for my 4c Hair. I experienced a lot of breakage because the products I was using was weighing my hair down and my strands couldn't absorb them so they had little or no effect on my hair. This caused my hair to break. I also experienced a lot of split ends so I had to constantly trim Off the thin ends.

My kinky 4c hair

I have a low porosity hair and my strands are not thick so thick butters do not work on my hair. To avoid breakage, I use water based products. I will discuss more on that on my next blog.

I will also talk about products that have worked so far for me.
Until then!!! Love you all *kisses*
